Debbie was born in Sea Point, a bustling little town on the Atlantic Seaboard in Cape Town. She spent her teenage years living abroad, where her passion for travelling and the English language was born. It was in 2006 that she decided to do her TEFL and in January 2007 joined the team at Cape Studies.
Teaching English to foreigners gives me the privilege of meeting students from all over the world, learning about their cultures, food, music and way of life. What she loves most about Cape Studies is the relaxed working atmosphere, which suits her laidback lifestyle.
Debbie enjoys the creative side of teaching English by incorporating writing and fun elements into the classroom. She particularly likes conversation classes as it allows the students to explore and break through the cultural barriers of communication.
